Scots will back independence as they ‘are looking at this corrupt, sleazy cesspit and they do not like what they see’

The SNP has claimed that Scottish people will back independence as they want to “get the hell out” Westminster’s “sleazy cesspit.”

The SNP’s shadow Commons Pete Wishart blasted the government as he highlighted an opinion poll which has suggested a huge majority of Scots do support Scottish independence.

Wishart used business questions to say, “The Scottish people are looking at this corrupt, sleazy cesspit and they do not like what they see.

“They’re quickly determining it’s time to get the hell out of this place.”

Commons Leader Jacob Rees-Mogg told MPs in the House of Commons, “He wants to bat back and forth opinion polls, and I note even SNP supporters don’t think having a referendum on independence is very important.

“I think they want to see the SNP Government in Scotland getting on with running Scotland properly and making the health service work, and building the roads and dealing with all the problems they’re singularly failing to deal with.”

On Wednesday Westminster’s SNP leader Ian Blackford told Prime Minister’s Questions that he has spoken to The Mirror newspaper over their allegation that Boris Johnson “broke lockdown laws.

Blackford blasted at Johnson and asked, if it is “one rule for him and one rules for everybody else” following the allegations of a Christmas party being held at Downing Street last year.

Blakcford told MPs in the Commons that Johnson’s party “broke lockdown rules” and then revealed that he spoke to The Mirror over damning the story on Wednesday morning.

Blackford said, “They are confirming what happened and they have legal advice on potential illegality.

“How are people expected to trust a prime minister when he thinks it’s one rule for him and another for everyone else?”

The Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer took to the despatch box and asked the Prime Minister a very simple question, “As millions of people were locked down last year, was a Christmas party held in Downing Street on 18 December?”

This comes after The Mirror broke a scandalous news story today which claims staff and Ministers at Downing Street were crammed “cheek to jowl” at a Christmas party inside No.10 when London was locked down under Teir 3 restrictions.
