Kyiv rocked by more Iranian made kamikaze Shahed drone attacks with clouds of smoke seen across the capital

Vladimir Putin has launched another wave of attacks on Kyiv as dozens of Iranian made Shahed kamikaze drones hit various residential buildings with at least on one killed.

Explosions were heard in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv’s Mayor Vitalii Klitschko said explosions were heard in the Shevchenkivskiy district, which was also hit by several cruise missile strikes last week.

He added, “The body of a dead woman was recovered from the rubble of a house in Shevchenkivskyi district, where an explosion occurred as a result of a drone attack.

“Another person is under the rubble. Search and rescue operations are ongoing. Three victims were hospitalised.”

Klitschko continued, “The explosion in the Shevchenkiv district – in the centre of the capital.

“All services follow in place. Details later.

“The air alert continues. Stay in shelters!”

He added, “As a result of the drone attack, a fire broke out in a non-residential building in the Shevchenkiv district of Kyiv.

“Fire departments are working. Several residential buildings were damaged. Medics are on the spot.

“We are clarifying the information about the victims.”

Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command said that 26 Shahed 136 kamikaze drones where destroyed.

Ihnat said, “Yesterday, we reported the destruction of 11 kamikaze drones on this front.

“Between 03:30 and 07:00, another 15 drones were destroyed.

“So, we actually destroyed 26 Shahed-136 drones overnight in the area for which Air Command Pivden (South) is responsible.

“Anti-aircraft missile units were mostly involved, but fighters were also in action there.”

Andriy Yermak, head of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Office, added, “We need more air defence systems and as soon as possible.

“We have no time for slow actions.

“More weapons to defend the sky and destroy the enemy. So be it.”
