On 24 February 2022 Russian launched a full scale invasion in Ukraine and in March of that year Coca-Cola HBC’s operations were to be suspended according to the company.

However a report suggests that drinks giant has not fully withdrawn from the Russian Federation and questions have now been raised over the true extent of Coca-Cola’s HBC’s operations.

Coca-Cola HBC’s update in August said they intend to have a “smaller operation in Russia which has been renamed Multon Partners.”

The company said that they intend to focus on their existing brands in Russia and “it will be managed and operated locally.”

According to The Mail on Sunday the drinks giant have ten bottling facilities with three in Moscow and another near to the Ukrainian border in Rostov-on-Don.

A spokesperson for Coca-Cola HBC told the paper, “Following The Coca-Cola Company’s decision in March 2022 to suspend its business in Russia, Coca-Cola HBC transitioned to a 100% local business in Russia called Multon Partners.

“It is a self-sufficient business managed by a local team and focused on local brands, such as Dobry Cola.

“The Coca-Cola Company is not involved in these operations. Our focus is to ensure the business remains self-sufficient and that we can protect our people and our assets.”
